Founded in 1994 as part of the Erie City School District, the Erie Family Center became an independent nonprofit in 2017. We remain committed to supporting families through every stage of their parenting journey, ensuring that every family has access to the resources they need to thrive.
We are dedicated to removing barriers that might prevent families from accessing our services. That's why all of our programs are free for Pennsylvania residents. Bilingual staff offer parent education courses in both English and Spanish, and we have translation services available for other languages upon request. For some programs, we offer transportation, child care, and meals to make it easier for parents to fully engage.
Our highly trained and dedicated staff lead a variety of programs, including Parents as Teachers, The Incredible Years, 1-2-3 Magic, Motherhood Support Initiative, Families in Recovery, and 24/7 DAD. These programs are available in-home, at community centers, or in our family-friendly facilities, providing flexible options for families to access the support they need.
Our commitment to families and our community drives everything we do – By empowering families, strengthening relationships, and enhancing the overall well-being of our community, together we create a brighter future.
