About the organization
The Erie Family Center believes that “Parents are their child’s first and most important teachers”. Our family support programs provide services through skilled staff, all in the comfort of your own home and at our family-friendly center. Most do not have eligibility requirements and are available to anyone within Erie County. Bilingual staff is available for Spanish-speaking families and parent education courses are conducted in both English and Spanish.
The Erie Family Center began in 1994 and remained under the Erie School District Umbrella until 2017 at which point parted ways to become its own Non-Profit 501(c)3, however, the mission has stayed the same to strengthen families and promote the well-being of children and families in our own community through prevention, intervention, and education.
We currently service 300 families within all of Erie County with a wide variety of evidenced-based and other programs such as Parents as Teachers, The Incredible Years, and Motherhood/Fatherhood Support Initiatives offered by skilled staff, in the comfort of their own home or at our family-friendly center. Being a parent is the most important, and sometimes, the hardest job you will ever have, and because we believe that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher and the programming we provide bring so much to our families. Together we are transforming families and building brighter futures – but without your continued support and contributions, it just wouldn’t be possible.
The Erie Family Center strengthens families and promotes the well-being of children through prevention, intervention, and education.
